Crytek Is Ready to Take The Jump Into Virtual Reality

Crytek who is the developer behind the Crysis game-serial, recently showed off some VR with their Oculus Rift Demo Back To Dinosaur Island during GDC. And that looked pretty practiced from what they had to show. Now Crytek's managing managing director Faurk Yeril has spoken to GameSpot in an interview regarding their plans for Cryengine and VR in the future.

Crytek's Cryengine And VR Could Make For A Really Proficient Experience

During the aforementioned interview with GameSpot, managing director Faruk Yeril said that "they see VR every bit an Important device for enthusiasts" right at present, and in the time to come it should hopefully go mainstream.

"We are exploring VR correct at present. We desire to show the world truthful VR experience can simply come from CryEngine, the best one. We see VR as an important device for enthusiasts, then going to mainstream probably. Nosotros want to elevate what we can practise here… we hope to one day deliver a fully-fleshed VR experience"

He continued to talk near all of the current challenges of bringing VR to a much wider audience, mentioning the physical limitations "in terms of what gameplay actions yous can do." And regarding how they would bargain with the move sickness that almost all electric current VR-devices endure from, Yeril stated that Crytek "already plant solutions" for it. And on the hardware front Crytek's creative managing director Frank Vitz told them that the engine currently was able to make apply of AMD'southward LiquidVR technology "directly out of the box" thus enabling lower latency beyond multiple GPUS.

A VR game in the Cryengine could potentially exist really astonishing, but Crytek has hit some issues in the past few years, such as RYSE Son of Rome, not doing very well, and having to actually sell the rights for Homefront 2, a game they were in the midst of developing, and before this in that location were rumours of Crytek not existence able to pay out any salaries for many employees for a long stretch of time. The company has stabilized since all this happened last twelvemonth, so who knows, something good might exist in development correct now.
